The Rafaelo® radiofrequency generator
The Rafaelo® generator is a monopolar radiofrequency generator specifically designed for proctological applications; it can be used in treating both internal haemorrhoids and anal fistulas through RF ablation.
This plug-and-play, maintenance-free medical device generates 4MHz radiofrequency energy and transmits it to the attached probe or catheter at the touch of a foot pedal. For added safety and convenience, it features parameter presets for each application.
Features
- Plug-and-play, maintenance-free design
- Clear, concise touchscreen controls and application-based presets
- Displays energy usage (in joules) and duration of application
- Foot pedal for convenient hands-free control

Rafaelo® | RFA of haemorrhoids
The Rafaelo®procedure is an innovative method of ablating Grade 2, Grade 3 and some Grade 4 internal haemorrhoids using radiofrequency energy. After inserting our specially designed HPR45i needle probe into the haemorrhoid, the practitioner applies targeted RF energy to induce thermocoagulation. We also offer the Sphera ball probe for cases requiring surface coagulation only.
Fistura® | RFA of fistula-in-ano
Radiofrequency technology gives providers a quick, easy-to-learn option for treating anal fistulae. Thin, flexible Fistura® catheters are guided into the fistula and then gradually withdrawn, sealing the tract a few millimetres at a time using radiofrequency thermocoagulation. The catheters are available in four sizes (6F, 7F, 8F and 9F), depending on the diameter of the fistula undergoing treatment.
